JHUD'S EMPIRE-WAIST OBSESSION

While browsing my other blog, Urban-Hoopla for old fashion tidbits, I came across Oscar winning actress Jennifer Hudson's empire-waist dress obsession:

[From left to right: In a black glittery Carmen Marc Valvo dress at New Line Cinema 40th Anniversary Celebration. In aqua green BCBG Max Azria knee-length number at Clive Davis Honored with UJA Federation. In a Roberto Cavalli column at 2007 Fashion Rocks.]*

Before we get started, thanks to my dedicated Urban-Hoopla reader SoulKat for letting me in on JHud's love for empire-waist dresses.

[From left to right: JHud in beige at the Stuart Weizman Pre-Oscar party and in midnight on the red carpet and runway at the 6th Annual GM Ten Show.]

[From left to right: JHud in red and gold Roberto Cavalli dress and Neil Lane jewelry on the red carpet at the 49th Annual Grammy Awards. Flaunting her fit physique in a gray silk dress at the Clive Davis Pre-Grammy Party. Rocking reading glasses with a blue mini at Long Beach Pride Festival.]

And here is when JHud is NOT rocking a empire-waist dress...

[from left to right: JHud in a olive green sheath dress at the launch party of Omega. Flaunting her other assets in a form-fitting floral slip dress at Giant Magazine celebration. Going for a laid-back look in a white cotton dress with an tailored overcoat at the Celestial: A Diamond Affair 2007 lounge. Looking glam in a gold nude at the Gianni and Donatella Versace's bash for their Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award.

[from left to right: Rocking Fall's trendy Oxford leggings and a black tunic at Chris Brown's 18th b'day bash. In a black and white Safari-like dress at TAO Hospitality Suite for the 2007 VMAs. Going for a goddess look in a M. Kors asymmetrical dress at Poiret King of Fashion Costume Institute Gala. Looking divine in a velvet Jay Godrey dress at the UK premiere of "Dreamgirls."]

Style Verdict: To place the blame on her stylist is necessary but JHud makes the most of this style that works in her favor. However, JHud is one fierce curvy lady who shouldn't limit herself to ONE dress style!! *images via JHW!*
